Sure - it works *exactly* like a string (moving) on an electric guitar. A magnetic object (string, wheel, Harley Davidson??) moves around in front of a magnet which has a coil of wire connected to it, which is known by some as a "pickup". The faster it moves, the higher the pitch, the slower, the lower. You might want to make MORE than one, you'll get real bored with the same tone.
