Tom Strano wrote: <<I just got my first piece of classic equpiment this weekend - a Leslie 125. I'm currently modifying it so I can easily use it with any signal source, but I'm not sure what kind of preamp I should use to drive the 125's amplifier. (It's similar to the 147's, though only 20 watts, I think.) Buying a Trek preamp pedal is overkill and too expensive - I tested it by using a $10 test amplifier, and had it not been for the test amp's terrible S/N ratio, it would have been fine. Any suggestions? Guitar pedal? Rip apart a cheap guitar practice amp? Build something (where can I get the schematic)?>> Tom - If you can find one, a Leslie Combo Preamp pedal will work just fine with a 125 if you insert an impedance transformer in the signal line between preamp output and 125 input. They seem to go for $100, plus or minus a few bucks. I would assume this is somewhat cheaper than the Trek pedal, but it is also a much older piece of equipment. Steve
