I don't think there's any magic here. I have a 9-month old V3. Like
you, I think the full-boat V3 (w/Spin) is too noisy. I notice that
most (all?) of the factory presets have a treble setting of -12dB,
which helps to filter the noise, but makes the V3 sound "like it needs
a cap job." I recently had to send it back for warranty work, and if
there was a noise fix, I'm sure they would have added it while it was
open. Personally, I find using the effects out to be an accpetable
tradeoff.
