I just "discovered" TOP via some members on this list. And, Sal, I bought
"Back to Oakland" yesterday. You were certainly right about this disc. Great
stuff! 

As to what is hip?? Tell me. Tell me, if you think ya know. Hipness, like
beauty, is in the eye (or ear) of the beholder. I'd rather listen to Joey D
than Michael Jackson any day, but I sure want to know what you think. The
point of this list is to share musical insights and opinions, technical and
otherwise. I'm sometimes surprised by the reaction of some list members to
what they consider to be slights to their favorite artist, genre or, god
forbid, their ax. 

What is hip? This list is hip. Thank you all for your experience, your time
and your willingness to share what you are and what you want to be.
