Hi Guys!
Those heaters seem to have been put on all the organs we received down
south. The attached tag told us to keep power supplied to the line cord
so that the heater would be on all the time. I think it was more of a
moisture control for our humid climate...something to eliminate mildew.
I doubt it was intended for a means to raise temperature in colder
climates (like an engine block heater on your diesel car), even though
the rascal was hot enough to make you hurt yourself if you brushed your
hand against it unawares. All the "G" (government - with carry handles
on the sides) models seemed to have had them, also.
By the way, Adrianne, if the weather reports we saw last night are
true, this Nor'easter is wrapping you folks up with that white stuff
while we are in full spring bloom down here! Good time to get some
quality playing on that E/Leslie!!!
One last thing...saw an L-112 in antique shop Friday. He wanted
$450.00, I offered $200.00. He didn't take it , but didn't say no.:>) I
shall revisit. By the way, Bevis, the warranty card did say 1961. So I
think we could safely say production began around 1969 for the L series.
                Enjoy!,
                Dick
