[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index] bass rotor belt on 860
Something bad happened, and I don't know how or why. Basically, the bass rotor belt (actually, string) appears to have stretched out so far that now there is too much slack between the motor and the rotor, and there isn't enough friction to turn the rotor. With the compact, tightly arranged cabinet of the 860, it doesn't seem to be an easy fix, either. Does anyone have any suggestions / quick fixes / solutions that won't require complete disassembly? If I do have to take the beast apart, where can I find the proper replacement belt (string)? This 860 is looking less and less like the Holy Grail I originally believed it to be. No one said it would be easy. Nothing worthwhile ever is... TIA, -- Jeff Conlin XB2/860 CV/DR20 Fender P-bass
