We normally use a push on/push off switch also available at any hardware
store or Radio Shack.  Contact rating is not important as with either a

or 147 current is negligable.  Be sure to insulate any terminals which

exposed, as considerable voltage is present (117 VAC in the 147).

Connect in series with the existing switch and you can use either.
