Hey, no problem here, Steve. I agree with you that if poeple aren't
feeling up to working on their Leslie, they should seek someone who
knows about them (or ask for help on this list!!).
I was just remembering that before I owned a Leslie myself I was pretty
intimidated by the idea of taking one apart and tinkering with it. Once
I got one I decided to dig into it and discovered that it's a REALLY
simple device. Very low tech, and very easy to work on. It reminds me
of how easy my old '68 Mustang 6-banger was to work on 25 years ago. I
look under the hood of my Explorer now and I can't even fit a wrench in
among all that junk, much less know what to do with it!
So the bottom line is, don't be afraid of your Leslie, open it up and
you'll see it's simpler than you think. BUT, also don't be afraid to
call a tech when you need one! Or ask questions here and don't be
afraid of looking dumb! We were ALL newbies once!
