[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index] Steve Blau's CD
Hello all, I'm finally getting around to writing a much overdue report on the original CD which I swapped Steve a copy of Blue Monday for. The name of his disk is " Talk To Me". Steve's lead singer and main collaborator on this project is John Leigh Calder. This is a varied collection of Blues styles from shuffles to ballads. The album has a raw energy which is very appealing to me. There are fine performances by all musicians and Steve shines repeatedly . He plays more piano than Hammond organ, but does both with style. You just can't ignore the "pocket" in tunes like "Tongue & Groove". Very nice job, Steve. I hope you're getting as much enjoyment from our CD as I am from yours. Once again, I would like to extend my offer to the list to swap CD's with anyone else who has gone through the process. There's something very special about listening to music recorded by your friends. Sorry for the long delay, Steve and I'm looking forward to getting a copy of your next recording project. Cheers!
