[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index] Re: The Great Jimmy
I'll bite on this one. Blue Note CD releases Must Haves:
"Crazy, Baby", "Midnight Special", "Home Cookin'", "Plain Talk/Open
House", "House Party", (I'm doing this from memory, that's all I can...
Verve CDs: "Organ Grinder Swing", "Jimmy & Wes", "Further Adventures of
Jimmy & Wes"
Mosaic Records: A 3-CD set containing the most incredible J.O.S. sides you
will ever hear, all recorded in 1957 when he was still soloing mostly in
"straight eighths" with no percussion, material originally released on 5
vinyl albums (which I own, but I have worn them out!) from Blue Note.
I will put Mosaics address out after I run home to look it up.
Jimmy was a performer of very many different styles, so don't stop til you
have samples from his different eras.
Regards,
Scott the Organ Freak
